The quintessentially civilized city of Victoria is situated in the balmy Southwest corner of Canada on Vancouver Island. This former British Colony is about about 12 500 square miles in size and is famous for its natural beauty, hospitality and for the turn of the century ambience of its largest city, Victoria.

 

If you are crossing the Canadian Border:

Identification for Customs and Immigration is required. Carry a passport if possible. U.S. and Canadian citizens may carry valid drivers license and an original or certified copy of a birth certificate. If you are not a citizen of the U.S. or Canada, you are required to carry a valid passport and/or the appropriate visa. If you are uncertain of your status, please inquire before making reservations. For children, you are required to present a birth certificate. If children are not traveling in the company of their parents, they are also required to have a signed letter of permission from a parent authorizing their visit to the U.S. or Canada.

Schedules For Car-Carrying Ferries From:
Tsawwassen, B.C. (approximately 25 miles south of Vancouver). Nearest to Vancouver International Airport and easily accessible from Seattle by way of Interstate 5. Ferry passes through the scenic Gulf Islands and arrives about 20 miles north of Victoria at Swartz Bay. Large modern vessels with the most frequent and convenient sailings from the mainland.
Horseshoe Bay, B.C. (located between Whistler and Vancouver). Arrives at Nanaimo, about 2 hours drive north of Victoria. Also large modern ferries with frequent sailings (hourly in the summer). The drive down the Island is scenic with tourist attractions along the way but can be congested near Victoria in peak season.
Anacortes,Washington (north of Seattle). Passes through the scenic San Juan Islands and arrives at Sidney, about 18 miles north of Victoria. Two sailings daily at best. Because of stops along the way, this is a longish trip of 2 1/2 hours. Essential to reserve and arrive early in high season.
Port Angeles, Wa. (on the Olympic Peninsula). Arrives in Victoria harbor downtown. Up to 4 sailings daily in high season. Very busy. Sometimes it's necessary to arrive hours before sailing times (so call ahead when you are travelling).
Passenger Only Ferries From:
Seattle,Wa. The Victoria Clipper arrives in downtown Victoria's harbour taking 2 to 2 1/2 hours to get from Seattle. More expensive than the other ferries but saves you a lot of time. Not recommended for rough weather.
Bellingham, Wa. (high season only). Arrives in Victoria's downtown harbour
Port Angeles, Wa. (high season only). Arrives in Victoria's downtown harbour

Bus Service From BC Mainland:
Pacific Coach Lines   Service from downtown Vancouver & Vancouver Airport to downtown Victoria Terminus.
